- Dunfermline have won their first two matches in League One and will hope to maintain that 100 per cent record against Montrose, who have never tasted victory at East End Park.
- James McPake's men beat Alloa at home and FC Edinburgh away to sit joint top with Airdrie on six points, while Montrose are also unbeaten but have drawn both their games to lie sixth.
- Montrose are led by former Pars favourite Stewart Petrie and the two teams last faced each other almost exactly 10 years ago, in August 2012 when Athletic won 3-0 at home in the league cup.
- Pars have won five out of the last six meetings, the other was a draw, and you have to go back more than 35 years, to January 1987, for the last time Montrose triumphed in this fixture, 1-0 at Links Park.
- Midfielder Chris Hamilton will be available for Dunfermline today after serving a two-match suspension.
