PARS boss James McPake is relishing the prospect of a West Fife derby as his side travel to Central Park on Saturday to take on Kelty.

Dunfermline go into the game having won their first three league matches, while last year's League Two champions are yet to win – or claim a point – in the opening fixtures.

With the clubs meeting for the first time in the league, McPake is looking forward to the clash.

"I cannot wait," he said. "I love derby games. It will feel like there's a lot more there than there really are there just because it is a small area. I am looking forward to it.

"I have been involved in Dundee derbies, the Edinburgh derby, the West Midlands derby between Leicester and Coventry which is a huge derby – when you talk about big games, full stadiums, that's a big derby. So it is nothing that is going to phase me.

"There's players in there that have been involved in Old Firm derbies, Dundee derbies, Raith-Dunfermline. It is worth three points and the bragging rights because the clubs are so close but we have all been involved in big games so it isn't going to phase us.

"It is another game, it is an important game. We need to go out and do it properly and keep our performance levels high."

Coming into Saturday's squad will be new season-long loan signing Sam Fisher, who McPake expected to be the only addition from last weekend's win over Montrose.

Club captain Graham Dorrans and midfielder Paul Allan were both ruled out through injury last week and the Pars boss said on Tuesday that this was unlikely to change before the weekend.

Dunfermline defender Aaron Comrie said he and his team-mates would be "more than ready" to take on Kelty as they look to continue their winning streak but warned it would not be an easy fixture.

"The boys are feeling good," he said. "There's an air of positivity around the place.

"They (Kelty) are a good team. They maybe haven't started the season the way they would have wanted but it will be a really tough place to go. They have got a very experienced manager as well so I think it will be a tough game and we are going to need to be at it to get something from the game.

"They will be looking to start the game well and take us on head to head so it is going to be tough.

"Positivity has taken us a long way so far. We have got the three wins through hard work.

"It has been the perfect start so far and if we can keep shutting out and keep the clean sheets then we are hoping to give ourselves opportunities like the game on Saturday, where we kept it tight at the back and we managed to nick a goal and that gives us the three points."
