A FORMER Royal Marine threatened police who had gone to his help after he fell in the street when intoxicated.
Richard Grant, 35, of Silver Street, Kincardine, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on October 26, last year at Dunfermline police station, he made threats of violence repeatedly to a police officer and his family and engaged in a struggle with officers.
The court was told that police received a call about an intoxicated man who was struggling to stand up in the street.
Officers found Grant, who had fallen over and struck his head. An ambulance was called to the scene but paramedics said he did not require hospital treatment.
Grant was then taken to Dunfermline police station where he made threats and struggled with officers.
Defence solicitor Peter Robertson said: “He knows it’s in the balance whether he gets a custodial sentence, given his record.”
Sheriff Paul Reid deferred sentence until September 28 when Grant has other matters calling.
