A HIGH-ENERGY performance is expected to rock Dunfermline's Fire Station Creative this Sunday.

The Iotas, formerly the Smithereens, have performed sell-out shows at the arts hub previously and hope that this month's will be no different.

Frontman Mark Stronge says he is "really looking forward" to the gig, which will be their first of many this autumn.

"We first played there (Fire Station Creative) just before the COVID situation, we were a bit concerned it was a Sunday, Dunfermline struggles to fill pubs and venues nowadays any night barring the usual Saturday, but it was a total sell-out.

"The Fire Station has proven itself, time and time again, to be a fantastic venue."

The band played at the city-centre spot again in April, which Mark says was also a sell-out event, having changed their name and drummer.

Having been playing together for four years, the group "only play music we really loved", from Prince to Supergrass and a "sprinkle of Primal Scream".

Ian Moir, curator of the gallery, added: "This band bring a lot of energy and we're really excited to be hosting them at Fire Station Creative. Last time, they rocked the place!"

Each member of the group has a long history in the music scene, with guitarist Mike Wilson, drummer Deek Lyndsay, bass player Alan Riches and singer Mark all starting their careers in the 1980s and '90s.

The event will begin at 6.30pm with support from duo Dougie Stronge and Sandy Tweedale.
