DETAILED plans for 165 new homes in Rosyth have been submitted to Fife Council.

Outline permission for the site was granted previously as part of Kapital Residential Ltd's Hilton Garden City development and the latest application has now been submitted by Avant Homes Scotland.

A planning statement explained: "This site was part of the original masterplan for Rosyth Garden City, a planned new town to support the planned dockyard.

"The plans for the dockyard were scaled back and as such, a large part of the masterplan for the Rosyth Garden City were never realised."

The latest plans, it added, built on the previous application.

"The site is located immediately adjacent to existing areas of housing, including earlier phases of the masterplan to the south.

"The proposal for this next phase of development builds on these previous approvals and demonstrates compliance with the approved masterplan and associated development brief."

An Avant Homes Scotland spokesperson confirmed they hoped to deliver 165 new homes on the Admiralty Road site.

They added: “Subject to approval, the development will comprise a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes that will form part of the wider masterplan for the Admiralty Road area and be recognised as an extension of Rosyth village.

“Our proposed development represents a significant and continued investment into the local area by Avant Homes Scotland and we currently await the planning decision from Fife Council.”
