MORE fun in the sun could be had at a Dunfermline hotel after a planning application was given the go-ahead.

The City Hotel had asked for permission to extend the existing balcony at the back of the premises looking out onto the Glen Bridge car park.

The proposals are set to see the addition of another 174 square feet of al fresco space for eating and drinking and accommodate around 16 extra tables.

In approving the application, a planning statement said the proposals were acceptable in terms of design, residential amenity and land contamination and would preserve the character and appearance of the Dunfermline Conservation Area and the setting of the category C-listed buildings.
