A 49-YEAR-OLD Dunfermline man was caught trying to steal from a car.
As a result, David Astin, of Gordon Terrace, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on July 22, at Abbey Park Place, Dunfermline, he tried the door and boot handles of a car and attempted to force open a locked car with intent to steal.
Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said his client had no recollection of the incident as he had been mis-using valium at the time, taking up to 14 tablets a day.
βHeβs very disappointed in himself,β he added.
Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
