A 38-YEAR-OLD man was caught with an unauthorised SIM card when he was serving a jail term.

As a result, David Bruce has now been sent back behind bars for a fresh sentence.

Bruce, of Nith Street, Dunfermline, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on January 28, while at HMP Glenochil, Tullibody, he was in possession of an unauthorised SIM card.

Depute fiscal Susannah Hutchison said the card was found during a search of Bruce’s cell.

Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said his client had been released from jail in April.

Since then, he had been staying away from pubs so that he would not return to his drink and drug problems of the past.

Sheriff Neil Bowie commented that Bruce had “a lengthy record of previous convictions” and jailed him for 160 days.
