Verdict: Five stars.
If I could turn back time, I would probably want to see The Cher Show again.
Cheesy puns aside, this new musical embodied everything I expected from a show about one of music's greatest divas.
Making its world debut in Chicago's Oriental Theatre just over four years ago, the Glasgow audience finally got to see the Cher Show as it kicked off a King's Theatre run on Tuesday.

Infused with a narrative written by the same man who wrote Jersey Boys for the stage, Rick Elice, this show tells the story of Cher's rise to stardom through her songs.
The rule book for jukebox musicals however is ripped up as we are introduced to three versions of the music legend known affectionately as Babe (Millie O'Connell), Lady (Danielle Steers) and Star (Debbie Kurup).
The hits that the singer is known for also appear in no chronological order with The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss), If I Could Turn Back Time, Believe and I Found Someone just some of the highlights.
And the results of both are simply magnificent mainly thanks to direction from Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Philips and choreography by Oti Mabuse, who both create a musical which is fun, flamboyant and engaging from the get-go.
Their creativity captures everything we love about Cher from her humour to her high-maintenance look. The choreography is also simply dazzling showcasing the songs beautifully.

The talented trio of Chers wow with their interpretation of the star at different stages of her life. The singer's voice and mannerisms have been at the forefront of many parodies over the years but the cast showcased their Cher respectfully.
A real highlight was O'Connell's performance of I Got You Babe with Sonny (Guy Woolf). Her version mirrored the original many Cher fans have watched over and over on YouTube. Every movement, note and even the chemistry between the pair recreated the magic of the original and was a joy to watch.
Although this musical exceeds in many elements, it has to be said the narrative at times felt rushed. Jersey Boys succeed because the plot had depth while The Cher Show attempted to squeeze in the key moments of the star's life to make room for the hits.
Most fans, however, won't care because there are a lot of good songs from Just Like Jesse James to All or Nothing.
And let's face it, the show is a celebration of Cher reminding fans why the singer is so special.
