THOUSANDS flocked to Dunfermline this morning as city status was officially conferred by King Charles.
The King and the Queen Consort attended an official ceremony at the City Chambers before they visited Dunfermline Abbey to mark it 950th anniversary.
Before and after the historic ceremony, Their Majesties stopped to greet well-wishers and chat to the waiting crowd.
