PUPILS at Inverkeithing High went the extra mile – and more – for a special sport challenge.
Youngsters – and staff – along with the Active Schools team organised a Sportathon just before the holidays where they were tasked with keeping a treadmill, exercise bike and rowing machine moving for 24 hours.
There was a prize up for grabs for the school house that travelled the furthest while the participants also kept count of how far they went collectively.
Before the event, Active Schools co-ordinator Neil Haldane said their young sports ambassadors had done a lot of the organising for the event.
"The idea is to make sure everyone has an opportunity to take part if they want to," he said. "Roughly around 150 kids signed up. The response has been amazing."
Overnight, senior pupils and staff who had volunteered to take part were kept busy with the challenge as well as fun activities including a silent disco and a pool and table tennis competition.
