A DUNFERMLINE man has gone viral on social media for his supermarket announcements for shoppers.

Conor Boyle, 23, has worked at the Tesco Fire Station store for over five years and recently he unwittingly became a star for his videos on the popular platform, TikTok.

It started as a way to keep in touch with a friend and former workmate, however he accidentally made them public and the next thing he knew he was getting thousands of likes, views and followers.

“I started doing these TikTok’s to send to my colleague who moved town south as a way to cheer him up,” he said, “but I completely forgot to make them private so they started to pick up on people’s 'For you' pages.

“Then all of a sudden some of my videos are getting half a million views. It was just mad!”

Conor’s most popular video was posted just one week ago but has already been viewed 693,000 times and liked by 46,000 people.

He continued: “I think people just find them satisfying to watch. A lot of people enjoy the wink I do at the end of the tannoy.

"I’ve actually had a few requests for videos, my most recent was for a combination of ‘Hello’s!

“Since posting the TikTok’s, I’ve had many customers coming up to me commenting on how much they have enjoyed my tannoys.

"Many of them come up to me and say ‘hello’ so I’m so glad people local are watching it too.”

With more than 97,000 likes on his profile, Conor's tannoy fanbase has really grown and he doesn’t plan on stopping there.

He laughed: “I’ve still got many more tannoys to come. So make sure to look out for them on TikTok.”
