A DRUG driver was found to be more than six times over the limit for cocaine.
Steven Johnston, 21, of Fordell Way, Inverkeithing, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
Despite the sky-high reading he claimed he had not taken any drugs for 20 hours when he had driven.
Johnston previously admitted that on July 7 last year in Queensferry Road, Rosyth, he drove a car when over the limit for drugs.
The proportion of benzoylecgonine – the major metabolite of cocaine – in his system was 320 microgrammes per litre of blood, the limit is 50 microgrammes.
Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said: “He says it was at least 20 hours before that he’d taken anything.”
Sheriff William Gilchrist banned Johnston from driving for 16 months and fined him £520.
