IT'S a big ask but having your first major gig at Murrayfield Stadium is something to make a song and dance about.

And that's exactly what Dunfermline band Bears with Feathers are planning to do when they play at the fan village tomorrow (Saturday).

They will be playing on the back of fellow city musicians Moonlight Zoo's show there last Saturday and are hoping to get rugby fans "up dancing and moving" before the national team take on Fiji in the autumn internationals.

"It's two 45-minute sets, because we are quite new we have had to throw a lot of covers in there," Cameron Jow, who plays drums for the band, explained.

"They are all songs we have chosen together so we are all really excited to play them as well, we've not just chosen crowd-pleasers, we've chosen ones we also love.

"We've thrown all of our originals in there, then we have Use Somebody, by Kings of Leon, then we have a Royal Blood song which will apparently go down well, we're doing Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, things like that, we're hoping to get people singing along.

"We have a lot of rock influences in the band anyway, it's showing a little of what we can do.

"We like our stuff to be upbeat, get people dancing, get people moving."

He is joined by Rian Hamilton, Scott Anstruther, Jack Hartmann and Dan Spurgeon to make up the group, who only formed two years ago.

"We haven't been able to do a lot of gigs – there haven't been gigs on – we've just been writing and recording," Cameron added.

"This is going to be the biggest gig we've done for any of us. To say that we are anything less than ecstatic is a total lie."

Their first single, Hypnotise, which was released earlier this year, will also be added to the matchday playlist to be heard by the expected 67,000-strong crowd.

Bears with Feathers will play in the fan village on November 5 and you can listen to their music on Spotify.
