A DRUG ADDICT who went on a shoplifting spree across West Fife has been granted bail.

Aaron Sinclair travelled across the Kingdom stealing from shops and supermarkets, day-in, day-out with scratch cards and cigarettes his favoured targets.

Sinclair, 32, of Durie Park, Burntisland, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

However, after admitting 12 separate charges of shoplifting over an eight-day period, the sheriff decided not to remand Sinclair in custody.

Sinclair admitted that on October 12, at the Co-op, Lt Sales Avenue, Dalgety Bay, he stole cigarettes, scratch cards and food.

On the same day at the Co-op, High Street, Burntisland, he stole alcohol, cigarettes and scratch cards.

On October 13, at McColl’s, St Andrews Street, Dunfermline, he stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

At Tesco, Winterthur Lane, Dunfermline, he stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

Then, on October 14, at Asda, Halbeath Retail Park, he again stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

On October 15, at Tesco, Aberdour Road, Dunfermline, he stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

On October 18, at Asda, Halbeath Retail Park, he stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

On October 19, at Morrisons, Flemington Road, Glenrothes, he stole cigarettes, scratch cards and juice.

At Nisa Extra, Queensferry Road, Rosyth, he stole alcohol, cigarettes and scratch cards.

Then, at the Co-op, Dollar Road, Burntisland, he stole alcohol, food, cigarettes and scratch cards.

On October 20, at Tesco, Regents Way, Dalgety Bay, he stole cigarettes and scratch cards.

Then, he went to Sainsburys, Central Retail Park, Kirkcaldy, to steal more cigarettes and scratch cards.

Defence solicitor Heather Morrison said her client was addicted to crack cocaine.

Sheriff Charles Lugton deferred sentence until December 7 and granted bail.
