PARS boss James McPake has been named as the Glen's League One manager of the month for September and October.

The Dunfermline manager has been feted after leading his side to the top of the table, having suffered just one defeat 14 league fixtures.

McPake took charge in the summer after Athletic had been relegated from the Championship, and his team have made a promising start in their bid to make an immediate return.

They are unbeaten in seven matches at KDM Group East End Park in the league, and their only defeat came at Montrose last month.

Dunfermline have won nine and drawn four of their League One fixtures ahead of Clyde's visit tomorrow, and are six points clear at the top of the table.

FC Edinburgh, who the Pars have beaten twice, are their closest challengers, whilst Falkirk - who Athletic defeated on Saturday - are a point further back.

"To get these awards the team has had to be performing well and without the staff and players all pulling in the one direction these awards aren't possible," McPake said.

"It truly is a team effort and the staff and players here at Dunfermline Athletic have been fantastic."

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said: "After the disappointment of relegation last season, going top of the table is a big moment for all concerned at East End Park.

"James McPake and his coaching staff have produced a series of fine results recently and deservedly lead the way in what is a tough race to get back into The Championship.

"After a competitive vie for the August Glen’s Manager of the Month title, the voting panel were in no doubt where the September/October award should go. My congratulations to everyone involved with Dunfermline.

"It has been great to see the fans returning in significant numbers to watch the side in recent weeks - including what was a huge crowd at The Falkirk Stadium at the weekend."

Whilst manager of Dundee, McPake was twice named as the Championship manager of the month, and, in 2020-21, was named manager of the year after guiding the Dark Blues to promotion.
