A MAN has been jailed for more than four years after leaving his victim with severe injuries in a bottle attack in Inverkeithing.
Ryan Knowles, 29, also assaulted a woman during the violent incident on New Year’s Day and later spat on a police officer.
Knowles appeared from custody for a jury trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and was found guilty of the following three charges.
On January 1, at Whinny Hill Crescent, Inverkeithing, he assaulted a man by punching him on the head repeatedly and striking him on the head with a glass bottle repeatedly to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
He also assaulted a woman there by punching her on the head repeatedly to her injury.
Then, on January 2, at Craigleith Avenue, Inverkeithing, he assaulted a police officer by spitting on him.
Knowles had given early release from a previous sentence and was ordered to serve another 182 days of that term.
He will then serve a term of three years and 211 days for these latest offences.
