A DUNFERMLINE man has been sentenced for a crime involving a stolen bank card.
Michael Smith, 48, of Ericht Grove, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted previously that on June 21, 2020, he reset a bank card and used it at the Spar, Townhill Road, to obtain goods worth £27.50 by fraud.
Defence solicitor Calum Harris said: “At the time, he was in the midst of a long-standing heroin addiction.”
Since the time of the offence, Smith has served a jail sentence for other matters.
“He’s doing everything in his power to prevent being sent to jail again,” added the solicitor.
Sheriff Wylie Robertson imposed a community payback order with 18 months of supervision.
