TRIBUTES have poured in for a Dunfermline woman who has died after a road crash on the A9 in Perthshire.

Claire Wilson, 55, worked in the radiology department at Queen Margaret Hospital.

She died after a crash between Luncarty and Bankfoot at around 9.20pm last Thursday.

NHS Fife director of nursing, Janette Keenan, said they were “truly saddened” to learn of the tragedy.

“Our hearts go out to Claire’s family at this most difficult of times,” she said.

“In addition to being a skilled, compassionate and dedicated member of our radiology team, Claire was also a much-loved and trusted friend who will be greatly missed by her colleagues, both at Queen Margaret Hospital and elsewhere across NHS Fife.”

Tributes were paid on the Press Facebook page. Gemma Kinnell posted: “Was a pleasure knowing you and working with you Claire, you will be very missed by many” while Diane Copland said: “Claire was one of the nicest people I have met. RIP Claire. Thinking of all her family at this awful time.”

Katie Dale added: “One of the nicest women I could have ever hoped to work with. You’re so missed Claire” while Sheilann Smith said: “Such a lovely, caring person. Claire will be missed.”

Calum Taylor described her as “one of the kindest women you could ever have met”.

A statement from Police Scotland said Mrs Wilson was the driver and sole occupant of a white Mini Cooper which was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our thoughts are with Claire’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

“You can call 101, quoting reference 3418 of Thursday, 17 November.”
