A SCOTTISH musician who has been compared to the likes of Van Morrison will play at Dunfermline’s PJ Molloy’s next month.

Ross Wilson, known as Blue Rose Code, will be brining his blend of folk, Americana, jazz, and pop to the venue.

It’s all thanks to the nationwide Scotland on Tour initiative, which is aimed at bringing emerging and established acts to towns, cities and villages across the country in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ross said: “It’s fantastic to be getting out and playing live music again.

“It’s been a tough few years but this initiative is such a brilliant opportunity to get out on the road.

“Having released my fifth album in 2020, it will be so special to be able to perform it live in Dunfermline this December!”

Originally from Edinburgh, the musician spent years living in England before returning home where he began developing connections with other artists to help shape his music.

Jonny Watt, promoter at PJ Molloy’s, said: “Blue Rose Code is another brilliant show that Scotland on Tour has made possible and we can’t wait to welcome Ross Wilson and company to Dunfermline.

“The contemporary alt-folk stylings of Blue Rose Code conjures up comparisons to Van Morrison and John Martyn, however, there’s something extra special in their live performances that I think will really shine to a December crowd in PJ Molloy’s.”

The Scotland on Tour line-up involves performances by around 120 artists at more than 100 venues across the country and was supported by a £750,000 grant from the Scottish Government.

It has brought the likes of Pictish Trail and Heron Valley to the Canmore Street location and will run until April 2023.

Blue Rose Code will play in the city on December 8 and tickets are available at: www.scotlandontour.com.
