ATHLETIC and Kelty Hearts have discovered their quarter-final opponents in the SPFL Trust Trophy after the draw was made this afternoon.

After both clubs won through their respective ties over the course of the weekend, the League One pair have both been drawn away from home, to Dundee and Queen of the South respectively.

The draw for the semi-finals was also made, with the winners of Dundee and Dunfermline playing either Queen's Park or Raith Rovers, whilst the winner of Queen of the South and Kelty facing Hamilton Academical or Clyde.

The outcome of the draw, which was held at Hampden, means Pars boss, James McPake, and his number two, Dave Mackay, will return to their former club.

After retiring as a player, then taking up a position within the Tayside club's academy, McPake took over as manager in 2019 and, in 2020-21, led them to the top flight by beating Kilmarnock in the Premiership play-off final.

However, with the club second bottom of the top flight, McPake was dismissed by the Dees in February this year, who went on to finish bottom and suffer relegation.

Since taking over at KDM Group East End Park, McPake has led the Pars to the top of League One, suffering just one defeat in 17 league games.

They will contest their first quarter-final in this competition, which they have never won, since the 2016-17 season, where they lost to eventual winners, Dundee United.

Dundee, currently managed by Gary Bowyer, defeated Falkirk in round four - 24 hours before the Pars won at Arbroath - and are second in the Championship, one point behind leaders Ayr United.

Kelty's reward, meanwhile, for seeing off Northern Irish champions Linfield on Saturday is a trip to fellow League One side, Queen of the South.

John Potter's side, in the last eight of the tournament for the first time, travel to Dumfries this weekend, having won their previous meeting at New Central Park earlier in the season.

The full draw is:
