A DUNFERMLINE nursery has a very specific type of person in mind for their next team member – they need to be "the bestest King of the Castle"!

If the advert is anything to go by, the role at Lauriston Nursery might involve the most fun you could imagine, with the ability to "resist the urge to sniff playdough" and "work with numerous unidentifiable substances" also classed as 'musts'.

It's also a refreshingly-honest job spec: applicants are told that they "must not be squeamish" as "poo will play a big part in your day".

The team say they are looking for additional employees to cope with increased demand and are looking for the "final pieces of their jigsaw to support the growth of the nursery".

The full list of essential skills reads as follows:

"You must have a friendly, smiling face to welcome all children and families.

"You must have a good sense of humour and be able to laugh at jokes that are not funny unless you are five and under!

"Vivid imaginations are essential – if requested to be the King of the Castle you must be the bestest King of the Castle!

"An excellent singing voice is not required, however, the ability to loudly sing a nursery rhyme out of tune in front of an audience is essential!

"Long arms to wrap round one or more children for squishy hugs are a bonus!

"Accept that you may enter public places after your work with numerous unidentifiable substances on your clothing and possibly in your hair!

"You must be able to resist the urge to sniff playdough and be able to stop the children from eating it, licking it, sticking it in ears, up noses and/or in hair!

"Must not be squeamish – poo will play a big part in your day!

"A sense of smell better than a police dog's is required to find the culprit(s) of any offending odours!

"Must be able to read an upside-down book with at least six interruptions per page whilst not losing your place.

"You must be prepared to have lots of fun and laugh frequently throughout each day.

"Lastly, and most importantly, you must want to make each child feel nurtured and secure, special and important."

There is also a "boring" list of must-haves – such as an SVQ3, HNC, or equivalent, a PVG and SSSC registration and experience working in childcare.

The advert added: "We strongly believe that Lauriston is a great place to work, with fair terms and conditions and a supportive management structure.

"If this sounds like your next opportunity or if you are interested in hearing a bit more about us, click apply and submit your CV.

"We offer permanent positions which you will get paid all year round, if this of interest, we look forward to hearing from you."
