CAFE INC will be offering free lunches to children and families during the school Christmas holidays this year.

The scheme, which is a free lunch club for children, young people and families in Fife, will be running twice a week during the break and there is no need to book, simply head along to your nearest Cafe Inc venue and help yourself to one of their grab bags.

Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council spokesperson for communities and leisure services, said: "The school holidays come amid a cost-of-living crisis and there's a lot of pressure on all families.

"That’s why Café Inc remains free for all, with no means-testing and no need to book. We continue to invest in projects such as Café Inc to try to support all families regardless of their circumstances."

The following venues in the Dunfermline and West Fife will be offering the free packed lunch to children, young adults and families: Kings Road Primary School in Rosyth, Saline Community Centre, Inzievar Primary School in Oakley, That Place in the Bay, Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre, Touch Community Centre and the James Allan Centre in Dunfermline.

She continued: "Cafe Inc is just one of the many ways we are trying to support our communities through our cost of living winter programme. We have also now launched our Warm Spaces scheme, again open to all, where anyone can go to get warm, have a cup of tea or coffee and maybe take part in some activity.

"Projects like this are not just about giving food and warmth, the company they provide can be just as life-saving for those who are isolated, excluded or just lonely.

"Even if you don’t need any of the services we are offering this winter, please help us spread the word to those who might and let's make sure that no-one goes hungry this Christmas."
