FIREFIGHTERS removed a car from deep water on a Dunfermline road yesterday (Wednesday) after heavy rainfall saw the area flooded for the second time in a week.
The car was pushed to safety after getting stuck on Halbeath Road which also saw major flooding on December 30, when drivers had to be evacuated from their cars and businesses in the retail park had to close their doors.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 12pm on Wednesday, January 4, to reports of a vehicle stuck in flood water on Halbeath Road, Dunfermline.
"Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters pushed one vehicle from flood water to an area of safety.
"There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."
With frequent flooding in the area, there are concerns that this is part of a wider problem.
Fife Council's roads maintenance manager, Bill Liddle commented: ”We are working with the retail park management team to resolve the drainage issues along this section of Halbeath Road.”
