A NEW disabled access ramp will be a blessing for those who want to attend services in church.

Fife Council have been told that wheelchair-users and elderly folks are currently struggling to get into Dunfermline North Parish Church, which is on Golfdrum Street.

An application has now gone into the local authority for listed building consent – it's a category C-listed building, dating back to 1840 – to carry out the work.

A statement explained: "The proposed disabled access ramp is to encourage elderly and disabled people, and their carers, to attend our church for regular Sunday services, weddings and funerals, which currently they cannot."
