A MAN had to be freed from his vehicle by firefighters after a student crashed into him near Dunfermline.
Ross Hain, 21, of Coaltown of Balgonie, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on June 23, on the M90 southbound, he drove carelessly, failed to stop and collided with a car, causing damage to both vehicles and injury to the other driver.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the incident took place at around 8.30am in heavy traffic.
The vehicle in front of Hain had come to a halt and he crashed into the back of it.
The driver of that vehicle had to be extracted by the fire service and was then taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but was not seriously injured.
Defence solicitor David Bell said his client was a student at Napier University in Edinburgh.
Sheriff Peter Anderson endorsed Hain’s licence with four penalty points and fined him £290.
