A DUNFERMLINE woman snapped when she found her partner playing video games again.

Katie McCafferty, who had been drinking, slapped her partner then bit his arm when he tried to phone the police.

As a result, 22-year-old McCafferty, of Gilfillan Road, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on January 4, at Law Road, Dunfermline, she assaulted her partner by striking him to the head repeatedly with her hand and biting him on his arm to his injury.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the couple were in a three-year relationship.

An argument had started between them at 9.45pm and McCafferty had left her flat, returning a short time afterwards.

The depute went on: “She wasn’t happy and slapped the complainer a couple of times. He called the police and when he was on the phone to them, the accused tried to get the phone from him, biting him on the forearm.

“He was later seen to have a bite mark on his arm.”

Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said: “He spends a lot of time gaming and she’d just had enough when she found he was doing it again.

“She had also taken alcohol and had not eaten for two days at the time.”

Sheriff Francis Gill noted it was McCafferty’s first offence. He deferred sentence until April 19 for her to be of good behaviour.
