A DUNFERMLINE charity shop has launched a special appeal for donations after vandals smashed windows at its city centre store.

The British Heart Foundation outlet on the High Street was targeted on Sunday night.

Its manager, Sonya Milroy, is hoping kind-hearted West Fifers will help them raise much-needed cash to foot the bill.

"I feel really bad for my volunteers who work so hard for my store to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, and this kind of reckless vandalism is very disheartening," she said.

"It's going to cost a lot of money to replace the windows. We urgently need stock to be able to help do this.

"We are, as always, in need of bric-a-brac, men's and women's clothes, shoes and handbags in all forms."

Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A spokesperson said: “We received a report of vandalism at a shop on High Street, Dunfermline, that happened between 4.30pm on Sunday, January 22, and 8.55am on Monday, January 23.

“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0686 of Monday, 23 January, 2023.”
