A DUNFERMLINE man kicked a door off its hinges at his partner’s home after they had been to a wedding together.

Thomas Ogston, 28, of Adamson Crescent, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on September 29, at Shields Road, he acted aggressively towards his partner. He shouted and swore at her, kicked the front door repeatedly, causing it to come off its hinges, and had gone there uninvited.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the couple had been in a relationship for six years and the incident occurred when they returned to her home after being at a wedding.

As Ogston kicked the door off its hinges, his partner left the house, went to a neighbour’s and police were contacted. Officers arrived and found Ogston in the street.

Defence solicitor Iain McCafferty said: “They had been at a wedding and alcohol had been consumed.

“He had also taken cocaine that evening and that his partner did not approve of that. That’s what caused the argument which escalated and he was hit by a glass she threw at him.

“He left but didn’t have his keys and that’s why he went back.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentence until July 26, for Ogston to be of good behaviour.
