AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy was injured after being thrown to the floor.
Daniel Sheridan, 32, of Rose Gardens, Cairneyhill was found guilty after a trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court last year and has now been sentenced.
Sheridan was convicted of a charge that on October 9, last year, at his previous home in Rosyth, he assaulted a boy, then aged eight, by seizing him on the body and throwing him to the floor to his injury.
Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said: “He accepts that the child was injured because of an incident involving him and shows genuine remorse.”
Sheriff Charles Macnair said the assault had caused injury and “significant upset” to the boy.
He imposed a community payback order with 150 hours of unpaid work and a three-year non-harassment order.
