Clyde 1, Dunfermline Athletic 1.

Dunfermline were forced to settle for a point in a scrappy affair with Clyde in Hamilton.

The Pars were looking to bounce back after their midweek cup defeat and their loss on penalties at Partick Thistle the previous weekend.

They started the game seven points clear at the top while their opponents have the unenviable spot at the foot of the table.

The first half provided an early shock for the Pars with the home side snatching a goal within five minutes.

Clyde had won a free kick which was cleared for a corner.

Kurtis Roberts swung in the set piece and after a goalmouth scramble, the ball appeared to come to Erik Sula who bundled the ball into the net.

Just minutes later, it was Dunfermline on the attack when Kyle Macdonald found Josh Edwards who shot wide of the post.

Soon after, Matty Todd produced a curler from outside the box which also was wide of the mark.

Edwards was back in the action when he whipped in a cross and found the head of Craig Wighton but his put his low diving effort wide.

Dunfermline put themselves under pressure just before the half hour mark when a stray ball from Mehmet resulted in a frantic foray on goal from Clyde but Kyle Benedictus eventually got his body in the way to put a stop to the attack.

The ball was cleared and came to Todd on the edge of the box. His shot, however, was well saved.

On 37 minutes, Dunfermline drew level. Edwards brought down the ball beautifully on the edge of the box and, unchallenged, fired in a shot straight past Neil Parry.

The second half saw Dunfermline the more dominant team however they failed to add to their total to take all three points.

With Kane Ritchie-Hosler and Lewis McCann coming on for the second half, Athletic found themselves quickly on the attack.

Within minutes, good link up play between Todd and Ritchie-Hosler win a corner and the attacking continued.

Wighton puts through Edwards soon after but his ball was cleared.

Just after 60 minutes, Todd gets the ball on the edge of the box from a corner and fired in a shot which was saved well by Parry.

Pressure continued from the league leaders but, despite a row of corners in the dying minutes, the second goal never came to fruition.
