THE Dunfermline branch of the Soroptimists are supporting a worldwide campaign aimed at stopping violence against women.

Started by the United Nations, where the Soroptimists have consultative status, the campaign will see the 25th day of each month declared as an 'orange day'.

The vibrant colour was chosen by the UN to signify a bright, violence-free future for women and the Dunfermline club have got on board with the initiative.

On Wednesday, January 25, they took to Cobb’s cafe in the Sterling furniture store on Kingseat Road wearing an item of orange clothing, or with a badge that read 'Soroptimists say NO to violence against women', to hand out leaflets on the campaign.
