CHILDREN from Donibristle Primary school loved their classes so much last week they didn't want to leave.

Over 100 children had a sleepover in the Dalgety Bay school on Friday, February 3 in support of their local foodbanks. The children packed their overnight bags and brought along their food donations for a night of fun.

Before their sleepover, volunteers from the Trussel Trust foodbanks visited the school to teach the children about the support they provide for their community.

Then, on Friday evening, the kids enjoyed a variety of events, including outdoor games, sports activities, nail painting and s’mores by the fire pit before yoga and a bedtime story to send them off to the land of nod.

On Saturday morning, before they were sent on their way, they enjoyed a lovely breakfast provided by the local supermarkets.

Depute headteacher Karen Hart organised the event.

She said: “We were delighted to be able to offer a Wee Sleepover to children again. The event was a huge success and the children were a real credit to themselves. A huge thank you to the staff team for supporting the event, we all had a great night.

"I would also like to thank Asda and Tesco for donating the breakfast items for us to use."
