APPLICATIONS to take on a new Post Office in Dalgety Bay are now open.

It comes after the existing branch in the village, located in the McColl's on Regents Way, was closed down in the new year.

Councillor David Barratt shared the news on his Facebook.

He wrote: "I’ve been in discussion with Post Office Ltd. since the closure of McColl's was announced back in November.

"They had to go through a number of steps before they could formally start the process of seeking a new premises and I’m now told they have come to the, somewhat inevitable, conclusion that Dalgety Bay does need a Post Office.

"They have opened an application process for anyone to register their interest and this will remain open until the May 15, although may close sooner if sufficient interest is registered.

"This is great news but it still hinges on finding a willing individual or business with the right attributes to take this on."

Post Office Ltd is looking for an applicant that could incorporate a Post Office Local into their existing or proposed business. They are looking for the services to be integrated into a 'vibrant and sustainable retail business' so it can be offered during the same opening hours.
