A 24-year-old man has been sentenced for driving when over the limit for cannabis.
Elvin Smith, of Collins Crescent, Dalgety Bay, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on January 6 last year on the A921 between Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay he drove when over the limit for cannabis.
His reading was 2.3 microgrammes of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannibinol per litre of blood, the limit is 2.0 microgrammes.
He was also in possession of cannabis.
Depute fiscal Eve McKaig said Smith was stopped by police and there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle. Herbal matter was recovered from the car.
Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said his client had been told by a friend that taking cannabis would help him sleep.
Sheriff Shirley McKenna imposed a 12-month driving banned and a £320 fine.
