THREE teams from Dunfermline Track and Field took part in an annual indoor competition for under-12 age group competitors recently.

The 'superteams' Scottish Athletics event, held at Glasgow's Emirates Arena, saw two girls squads, and one boys side, compete over individual 60 metre sprints, shot put and long jump disciplines, as well as a team relay.

Points are allocated on performance and the highest achievers from the club were the girls 'A' team, who finished 10th from 48 that took part.

Alice Thomas led the individual points totals, scoring 175, which included a 9.77 second 60m run, followed by Poppy Buchanan (174), who ran 9.75 over the same distance, and threw 4.19m in the shot put; Evanne Carson (165), who threw 4.60m in the shot put; and Kelseigh Wilson (152), whose highlight was a jump of 3.00m in the long jump.

A younger and less experienced 'B' team placed 40th overall in their first team competition.

Paige Wilson scored 151 points, with her highlight being a 10.33 60m, and she was followed by Millie Gordon (141), who threw a 3.65m shot put; Bobbi Talbot (139), who ran 10.79 over the 60m; and Jessica Coburn, who threw 2.98m in the shot put.

The boys team of Sean Asamoah, Lewis Young, Finlay Gibson and Brodie Huntzinger placed 18th from 44 teams, with Sean finishing as the fifth-placed individual boy overall.

He scored 239 points, with his fine efforts including a time of 8.97 in the 60m, and a 4.10m long jump.

He was well supported by Lewis, who threw 4.29m in the shot put on his way to amassing 174 points, and Finlay and Brodie, whose respective highlights were 9.77 and 10.62 60m runs.
