A WEST Fife woman has appeared in court for benefits fraud after receiving over £5000 she should not have been given.
In the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was 42-year-old Kelly Somerville.
She admitted that between May 5, 2016, and January 30, 2018, she failed to inform the Department of Work and Pensions about changes in her circumstances.
She was living with a man as husband and wife and he had the ability to contribute financially to the household.
She thus obtained £5306.67 to which she was not entitled.
Sheriff Wylie Robertson deferred sentence until March 22 for a GP’s report on whether Somerville is fit for unpaid work.
