BIG-HEARTED youngsters from Dalgety Bay Primary have raised just over £250 for charity.

The group of primary five pupils decided they each wanted to do their bit for charity so worked together to put on a fundraising stall earlier this month.

Principal teacher Katie Reid said the girls used their own initiative and produced the items for sale in their own time.

"They were not clear what they wanted to raise money for but knew they wanted to do something and wanted to do something a bit different," she explained. "They came together and decided to do it for Maggie's.

"We did a bit of work on sharing it prior to the event. Our families are always supportive and we knew they would have quite a captive audience. They worked really hard at home and about 70 cupcakes were made. There were cookies, sweets, bracelets, love heart loombands, bookmarks and cards – the amount they had done was on a different level.

"Children had the opportunity to visit and it was a complete sell out. We are super proud of these girls."
