FIFE Chamber of Commerce have given away £5,120 to their 18 charity members.

The money was raised at showcase events throughout 2022 and each organisation received £284.

They included Fife Alcohol Support Service, the Cookie Jar Foundation, Fife Gingerbread, CHAS, Maggie's Centre Fife, Kingdom Housing Association and Furniture Plus.

In previous years only one charity would be nominated for a donation, but could then wait several years to receive another.

This year the chamber decided to try a more equitable arrangement where every member charity would get money.

Ken Richards, interim chief executive, said: "We are experiencing some very tough times right now.

"Our charity members are at the cutting edge; delivering support to those most affected by the economic crisis.

"It was great to be present this morning and to meet such a diverse range of charities doing such important work."

Fife Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organisation with over 350 members in Fife, varying in scale from the likes of Diageo, Forth Ports and Amazon to a host of specialist sole traders.
