THE question of when the new Co-op store in Aberdour will open remains after a latest update from the supermarket.

The company is continuing to consider options for the location, but confirmed that no final decisions have been made.

Plans for the new shop, which represents an investment of £550,000 in the area, were revealed in 2019.

An opening date of November 26, 2021, had initially been announced but that did not go ahead.

Co-op were granted planning permission to knock down an existing car garage and former cottages on High Street and external work on the building since looks to have been completed.

The store was promised to create 12 jobs and have seven dedicated car parking spaces, an in-store bakery and a focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas and essentials.

An update provided by Co-op to the Press in November 2022 said that plans for the site had "not been finalised or confirmed".

And this month there is still no news on when the shop will finally open its doors.

A spokesperson for Co-op said: "We continue to consider our options and plans for the location, however no final decisions have been taken at this time."
