A SELL-OUT crowd enjoyed the latest concert from Dunfermline Choral Union – despite organisers having to find a replacement soloist at last minute.

The choir's Spring concert attracted almost 400 music lovers to the Vine Church venue who enjoyed an emotional and thrilling performance of Karl Jenkins' 'The Armed Man' and 'Magnificat' by John Rutter.

Opera student and mezzo soprano Charlotte Bateman stepped in as soloist after Dunfermline-born and internationally renowned mezzo soprano, Elizabeth McCormack, was forced to withdraw at short notice.

The choir and its musical director, Mandy Miller, are now looking forward to their summer season which begins on March 20 at the Vine, with the summer concert planned for May 27.

New members are welcome. For more information, go to DCU's Facebook or Twitter page or visit the group's website at www.dunfermlinechoralunion.co.uk.
