MEMBERS of the public are being invited to dig deep and help with a tree relocation project at Calais Wood this weekend.

The Save the Calais Woods Wildlife group have organised the two-day event and are hoping to have volunteers join them for a weekend of native tree sapling relocation.

Self seeded tree saplings within the wood which are below electrical pylons are soon due to be trimmed back by power companies and the group are now planning to move them away from danger.

They are due to be replanted in the south side of Duloch Park to extend woodland edges and hedgerows.

Group members will be on hand from 10am until 2pm pon both Saturday and Sunday, and are asking for anyone to come forward who can help with digging, replanting and transporting.
