THE Fife Sports and Leisure trust has scored an excellent rating for its lifeguard training and site assessments.

The organisation recently underwent its Internal Quality Assurance check on its trainer assessors, ongoing and new candidate training courses and sites as set out by the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) and Institute of Qualified Lifeguards (IQL).

Liz Wilson, safety and facilities assistant, for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said the annual check, which looks at compliance over a number of criteria, is taken very seriously.

"We were delighted to receive our excellent rating and are working hard to ensure we maintain this," she said. “The quality assurance evaluation is critical for the delivery of our programmes and means that we have the best qualified staff to support this.

"The trust is committed to delivering quality community sports and leisure services and this rating means that our customers can have confidence in our teams and standards.”
