WORK to clear choked drains which have caused persistent flooding issues in Aberdour is to get underway.
Fife Council have confirmed that gullies at the top of Murrell Road will be cleared this week after householders at St Fillans Crescent complained of floods.
Councillor Sarah Neal, who represents the area, had arranged a walkabout with council officers and residents to look at the source of the problem and identify solutions.
She said: "Water running down from the fields means some residents regularly experience flooding.
"I'm determined to prevent this happening again this winter.
"The water coming down from the hills will require further work, but we received assurances that Fife Council will clear the drains at the top of Murrell Road twice yearly.
"I'll continue to monitor this area to make sure this commitment is fulfilled."
