A HEDGE planting event at Touch Community Garden is hoped to bring residents together to take action for the climate and nature.

Volunteers will be able to learn a new skill and enjoy some physical activity outdoors while helping to grow native hedges which support wildlife, especially pollinators.

They will provide a boundary and shelter as well as protection for the soil and help with pest control.

Those who give their time will be joined by Carnegie Rotary Club and 40th Fife Scouts Group.

Free trees have been provided by the Woodland Trust and the activity has been supported by Touch Community Garden, Fife Council and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 25, between 10am and 12pm at the community garden near Gilfillan Road and Garvock Bank.

Booking is essential and anyone interested should contact Ask.Us@fifecountryside.co.uk.
