MAKE the city your kids' classroom this Easter and make use of the fun, free activities on offer with HQ Explorer PAST-PORT.

During the holidays, families are being encouraged to celebrate Dunfermline's newly acquired city status by visiting four different venues in the Heritage Quarter as a part of the initiative between Historic Environment Scotland, OnFife, Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum and the Abbey Church of Dunfermline.

From Friday, March 31, to Sunday, April 16, youngsters in the city will be able to take part in a number of activities including solving puzzles, decorating flags, making signs and 'stained-glass' style windows, and more.

On completing each challenge, kids will receive a stamp on their PAST-PORT. After collecting all four they will be awarded a certificate for their efforts.

Free PAST-PORTS can be collected at any of the participating venues – the Abbey Church of Dunfermline, Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum, Historic Scotland’s Dunfermline Abbey Nave, and Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries.

Before you visit, remember to check each venue for opening hours which vary, and pre-booking may be required. Families are invited to share their photographs of their adventures using the hashtags #HQExplorers and #CelebrateTheCity.
