"ENDLESS FLOODING" on Sandpiper Drive in Dunfermline may soon come to an end as work begins to tackle drainage issues.
Two-way temporary traffic lights have been put in place and are in operation during the working day between Amazon Way and Caithness Drive for a period of three weeks.
Councillor Cara Hilton, who represents the Dunfermline South ward, said the problem had grown "progressively worse" in recent years.
She wrote online: "One of the first issues I raised when elected as a councillor back in May was the endless flooding on Sandpiper Drive whenever it rains heavily.
"This issue has been getting progressively worse in the past couple of years and a real hazard for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
"I’m pleased to report that drainage work to hopefully sort this problem out will begin on Monday, March 13.
"It’s going to take three weeks during which there will be temporary traffic lights during the working day, so please allow extra time to travel if you use this road."
Bill Liddel, roads service manager at Fife Council, confirmed that work to tackle the drainage issue at Sandpiper Drive is underway.
He said: "Work started on March 13 at the locations between Amazon Way and Caithness Drive where there's a been issues with flooding.
"The work will last three weeks, and we'll have two-way temporary traffic lights in operation during the working day."
