"The weekly groups run by Miss Kane, our young carers champion, are providing invaluable support and respite for our young carers."

Ms Parkyn, the deputy headteacher, added: "We are one of only three schools in Fife to achieve the award.

"In achieving the award we have created a whole school ethos where children, supported by staff, feel comfortable to refer themselves as Young Carers.

"Our Young Carers Champion leads weekly support groups for our Young Carers, providing respite and an opportunity to have support in their caring role."
