YOUNGSTERS from Dunfermline Central mosque enjoyed a visit from local MSP and Education Minister Shirley-Anne Somerville last week.
The politician visited the place of worship's academy and spoke to children and heard about the studies on offer.
The Mosque's secretary, Shamina Chaudhry, said the visit was a great success.
"She came in and heard a bit of what we teach and how the classes work," she said. "She had a chat with some of the children. She talked about her job and what she does and that she not only represents adults but is there for them as well.
"We want our children to know that the members of parliament or councillors are not far-off reach people. You can contact them and they can be helpful to have so it was to let the children know."
