THE mum of missing West Fife man Reece Rodger has said the family will not give up searching for her son until he is found.

Glenda Rodger and Reece's Partner Paula Airzee made a heartfelt appeal for information on Channel Five's Vanished programme on Thursday evening.

Dad-of-two Reece was reported missing on Sunday, March 19 when he disappeared while camping in the Kinloch Rannoch area.

The 28 year-old was camping with friends on the north shore of Loch Rannoch, near to Killichonan.

His friends saw him around 11.30pm on Saturday and believed he was heading off to bed but there was no trace of him on the Sunday morning and they reported him missing.

Speaking on the Channel Five show, Glenda Rodger said the family was "broken" while he was still missing.

"We are not going to give up until we find him," she said. "He is a lovely boy. He is willing to talk to anybody. This is so out of character.

"He dotes on Paula and those two boys. He really does. He has built a home for them. He will work seven days a week. I couldn't ask for a better son. We are very proud of him.

"At the moment we are a broken family because we cannot find him. It is frustrating."

Partner Paula said they had searched "over miles and miles" of the Perthshire countryside with no success.

"There's no sign of him. Nothing. No signs of any of his belongings, nothing. We need answers. It has just gone on too long," she said.

"The last time I spoke to him was about 11.10pm but I was working and I work in a pub so it was busy. It was quite late and I couldn't really hear him. He was just asking me if I was alright.

"It was just normal conversation and in the morning, I got a message from one of his friends asking if he was home. Anytime he goes somewhere, he comes home.

"Even Sunday night I still did think that he would just walk in the door. Something has definitely happened to him. If something bad had not happened, he would be home."

Paula said they need information so they can tell their boys.

"We need to tell them something because they miss their dad. We all miss him," she added. "We are just hoping anybody with any information, even if they think it will be irrelevant for them, just to come forward.

"Cars on the road that night, just anything. Anybody that lives in that area, things out of the ordinary or any wee thing that is different that night that might help us to find where he is."

Since his disappearance, searches have taken place on a daily basis with over 1,000 people participating since his disappearance.

Reece is described as 6ft, of medium build with dark hair. When last seen, he was wearing a black long-sleeved t-shirt with distinctive white letters on both sleeves spelling out – MA STRUM, black jogging bottoms and black wellington boots.

Police say their enquiries are ongoing to trace Reece and they have been assisted in their searches by resources including the Air Support Unit, the Dive and Marine Unit, police dogs and Mountain Rescue Teams.

In a fresh appeal made last week, Police Scotland’s Inspector Stephen Gray said: “As time goes on, concerns are growing and we are again appealing to anyone who saw Reece or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us.

“I would appeal to anyone who was travelling on the B846 between 11pm on March 18 and 7am on March 19 and who may have witnessed anyone or who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to get in touch.

“I would like to thank the family and friends of Reece who have assisted in searches to date.”

Anyone with information that may assist is urged to contact 101 quoting reference number 1348 of Sunday, March 19.
